Our new Freefly Tero has arrived!

Well packed - this thing weighs a ton!

The Freefly Tero is a heavily modified Baja remote control car capable of speeds well in excess of 50mph.  Freefly has really engineered a beautiful piece of kit with this baby.

The Tero unboxed!

The Tero has a custom built aluminum cheese plate that's mounted to a serious vibration isolation system that has been rigged to the body via a custom carbon fiber plate.  It seems to be pretty rugged and well designed.  The battery compartment is very easily accessible and there are plenty of places to mount additional camera accessories via the cheese plate.

The accessories included with the Tero.

The accessories that come with the Tero are a bit underwhelming.  The pistol grip controller is pretty standard in the RC car world (although this one seems to be the cheapest possible option).  We will most likely ditch the pistol grip and go with a Spektrum controller we're more familiar with (also allowing additional channels for a controllable FPV camera).  A 4S lipo battery comes along with the Tero but we will mainly run at least a 6S for additional speed.

The Tero with a MōVI M10 mounted to the cheese plate.

Mounting a MōVI to the Tero was super simple.  I opted to use a Toad in the Hole quick release so that we can go from handheld MōVI mode to Tero mode fairly quickly.
